Law Students' Legal Advice Program (LSLAP)

Student-operated, lawyer-supervised program provides free legal advice and representation to low-income people concerning certain legal issues; does not give advice over the phone. The law clinics operate in Metro Vancouver neighbourhoods at night during the school year, and full-time during the summer; some remote options may be available. Assists in many areas of law, though does not give advice on problems such as those involving land, mortgages, family law, family business, or personal injury claims; refers clients to appropriate resources. Also offers specialized clinics serving people who speak Cantonese and Mandarin. Clinics are wheelchair accessible. Phone line hours are 10 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday; call to book an appointment. Closed in December and April.
