Mental Health and Substance Use Services - Vernon (Downtown)

Provides a range of health care and support services for adults with mental health and/or substance use issues. Services include assessment, treatment, counselling, education, and referral to community resources. Also provides counselling to individuals who are concerned about someone else's substance use. Open referral. In addition, provides access to other specialty substance use and mental health services. Outpatient Withdrawal Management Services provide planned withdrawal and substance use stabilization services in the home and community under the supervision of a team of care practitioners. Substance Use Outreach Services connect people who use substances to treatment and support systems in the community. Intensive Case Management services support adults and youth with significant mental health and/or substance use issues. Coordinates a broad range of services that may include assistance to find and keep housing; primary care; outreach; support in developing treatment goals; assessment and interventions; group and individual counselling; medical and psychiatric consultation; education and self-management support; and referrals to community services. Also offers STOP HIV/AIDS at this location; see separate listing for details. Provides opioid users with free Take Home Naloxone Kits (Narcan) that can be used to reverse the effects of overdoses from opioids like heroin, methadone, morphine, oxycodone, and fentanyl. Serves Vernon and area. Hours are 9 am to 3 pm Monday to Friday.
