Mental Illness Family Support Program - Education Programs

Strengthening Families Together offers a six-session educational program for family and friends of individuals with a serious mental illness; presentations take place at Vernon Public Library from 6 pm to 8 pm on the second Monday of each month. Kids in Control provides an eight-week educational program to children ages eight to 13 who have a parent with a mental illness. Children use crafts, games, and interactive learning activities to learn about mental illness and practice healthy coping skills. Centre also offers a Lending Library of books and DVDs about mental illness, mental health, and substance use/misuse; available to families, people with mental illness, service providers, and the general public.
