Mobile Integrated Crisis Response (MICR) - Kamloops
A mobile crisis response unit (composed of a police officer and a mental health nurse) which responds to individuals who are experiencing a mental health crisis. Also provides assistance to RCMP officers dealing with situations involving domestic violence. A police officer must attend first before referring to the team. Utilized by health care professionals and police officers who refer to the team to provide crisis intervention, risk assessments, and referrals to mental health and/or victim services. Serves residents of Kamloops. Service is provided in English; other languages may be available depending on staffing. Interpretation services are available for free. Partnership program between Interior Health and Kamloops RCMP. Serves communities in the Kamloops RCMP catchment area, including Heffley Creek, Kamloops, Knutsford, Pinatan Lake, Savona, Tranquille, and Walhachin. Service runs from 8 am to 8 pm, seven days a week. Emergency response is also available on a case-by-case basis.
