Native Healing Centre
Offers holistic and culturally sensitive programs to Indigenous and non-Indigenous people who have been affected by trauma, addictions, or grief and loss. Services include alcohol and drug counselling, general one-on-one counselling, and drop-in and crisis support. Offers counselling to individuals and families relating to issues such as violence, sexual abuse, sexual assault, family breakdown, residential school abuse, trauma, addiction, suicide, and mental health issues. Alcohol and drug services include counselling for youth and adults working through addictions, assistance with entry into a treatment facility, and education for clients and their families about addictions. Program is culturally sensitive and grounded in Indigenous values and provides access to Elders, cultural facilitators, and ceremonies to promote healing. Community-based victim services are listed separately. Open referral. Serves Prince George and surrounding area. Office hours are 9 am to 12 noon and 1 pm to 4:30 pm Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and 9 am to 12 noon on Thursdays. Funded by Northern Health.
