New Beginnings Program

Supports adults voluntarily motivated to work on mental health and substance use recovery. Crisis Stabilization Program is a six-bed residential facility for men and women age 18 or older who require short-term crisis stabilization due to mental health and/or addiction issues. Anticipated length of stay is five to 10 days. Intake is through Mount Waddington Mental Health and Substance Use Services office; intake hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. Registered with the Assisted Living Registry, Ministry of Health. The Withdrawal Management Program is a 30-day residential social detox program offering up to five clients the opportunity to work with staff on recovery skills, treatment applications, and integrating back into the community. Program staff consists of an addictions worker, a withdrawal management nurse, and house staff. Intake is through the Mount Waddington Mental Health and Substance Use Services office in Port Hardy; referrals are also accepted from a primary health care provider. Serves individuals living in the Mount Waddington Region. Office hours are 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday. Funded by Island Health.
