Mandate is to minimize the loss of life, injury, and damage to property from fire by administering and enforcing British Columbia's fire safety legislation. Provides support to BC's fire services through fire investigation, data collection, fire prevention, establishment of standards for fire service training, and assistance to fire departments. Also provides fire prevention and safety education resources.
