Parenting After Separation for Indigenous Families

Service Description

A free online course for Indigenous families who are dealing with parental separation and family issues such as guardianship, parenting arrangements, child support, and spousal support. Covers legal rights and responsibilities, the impact of separation on children, and communication and problem-solving skills. Helps participants make positive decisions about the way they resolve parenting issues after separation, and provides tools to support making decisions in the children's best interests. Course is available province-wide but communities required to take the course include Abbotsford, Campbell River, Chilliwack, Courtenay, Kamloops, Kelowna, Nanaimo, New Westminster, North Vancouver, Penticton, Port Coquitlam, Prince George, Richmond, Surrey, Vancouver, Vernon, and Victoria. Funded by Ministry of Attorney General.
