Priority Placement Program

Provides priority access to BC Housing's directly-managed social housing units for women who have experienced violence or are at risk of violence. Women may be of any age, with or without dependent children, and living off- or on-reserve. Women must fulfill eligibility requirements for subsidized housing, including residency, income, and assets requirements; see website for details (www.bchousing.org/housing-assistance/rental-housing/subsidized-housing). A service provider aware of the situation must verify information; suitable service providers include staff from safe homes, transition houses, second stage housing, domestic violence units, or victim services; or social workers, case managers, counsellors, doctors, or nurses. Application forms are available online, in person at a BC Housing office, or by mail.
