Red Fish Healing Centre for Mental Health and Addiction

Provided by: BC Mental Health and Substance Use Services

Service Description

Offers 105-bed residential treatment for adults ages 19 and over affected by both substance use and mental health issues. Program is designed for individuals with severe and complex substance use and mental health issues, who have challenges maintaining sobriety, and whose treatment needs are beyond what their local community health resources or health authority can meet. Length of stay varies depending on needs, but is typically six to nine months duration. Residents receive trauma-informed, culturally safe care that focuses on mental and physical wellness, as well as support with their recovery and healing journey so they can gradually transition to care in the community. Accepts voluntary and involuntary (certified under BC's Mental Health Act) clients. Accepts clients on probation as well as those using Opioid Agonist Treatment (OAT). Referral from a physician or other health professional is required; see website for more information and referral forms. The centre also includes research, education, virtual health, and teaching spaces. Wheelchair accessible. Offered in partnership with Kiwikwetlem First Nation. Serves BC.
