Salt Spring Island Transition House

Provides safe, free, and confidential first-stage transitional housing for women (inclusive of cisgender and transgender women) and non-binary individuals, with or without children, seeking safety from violence and abuse, including victims of sexual assault and stalking. Women must call the 24-hour Violence and Abuse Help Line to refer themselves. ID is not required. Maximum stay is 30 days. Support services include practical and emotional support; information on other resources; and necessities like food, personal care items, and emergency clothing. Additional supports are available to women leaving the transition house, including solution-focused counselling, support groups, and advocacy. Will accept male children up to 18 years of age. No pets allowed. One room is wheelchair accessible. Funded by BC Housing.
