Seniors' Supportive Housing

Provided by: BC Housing

Service Description

Provides modified apartment units in select subsidized housing developments for low-income seniors age 55 and over and people of any age with a disability or diminished ability who needs some assistance in order to live independently. Rent is generally 50 per cent of gross income and includes support services such as 24-hour emergency response, light housekeeping, laundry, meals, social activities, and emergency response systems. Applicants are expected to be able to manage their own lifestyle, otherwise, they should consider applying for Assisted Living (listed separately). Applications are completed either through the Housing Registry (listed independently) or directly to the housing provider; specific instructions for each development are included in the housing listings (available online or at BC Housing offices). Service is in English; callers who require interpretation must make arrangements in advance.
