Seniors' Supportive Housing

Provides modified apartment units in select subsidized housing developments for low-income seniors age 55 and over and individuals of any age with a disability or diminished ability who need some assistance in order to live independently. Rent is generally 50 per cent of gross income and includes support services such as 24-hour emergency response, light housekeeping, laundry, meals, social activities, and emergency response systems. Applicants are expected to be able to independently manage activities of daily living. Applications are completed either through the BC Housing Registry (listed independently) or directly to the housing provider; specific instructions for each development are included in the housing listings (available online at housingsearch.bchousing.org or at BC Housing offices). Service is in English; callers who require interpretation must make arrangements in advance.
