Transitional Housing Program
Provides housing to individuals ages 19 and older who are in recovery or seeking stability from substance use and/or mental health challenges. Clients must be willing to engage with supports such as medical care, counselling, or peer support. Sober environment; accepts individuals on substitution therapy. Serves individuals with low income or without stable housing, including those on income assistance or disability benefits. All applicants must complete a screening process, including a phone or in-person intake interview to assess suitability and current needs. Proof of identification and income sources is required. Placements may be at one of 12 transitional homes in Maple Ridge and Abbotsford, depending on vacancies. Urgent placements may be prioritized. Length of stay ranges from 3 to 24 months, with extensions considered on a case-by-base basis. Supports offered may include access to Opioid Agonist Therapy (OAT), trauma-informed counselling, weekly food support and hygiene supplies, peer support, and reintegration opportunities. Some units are wheelchair accessible. Referrals accepted from self, healthcare providers, outreach teams and Indigenous organizations. Serves Maple Ridge and Abbotsford.
