UBC Okanagan - Harm Reduction Team (HaRT)

Promotes substance use harm reduction on campus and throughout the Okanagan. Harm reduction services include providing harm reduction supplies and drug checking to anyone including those outside the university community. Supplies include safe drug use supplies, condoms, naloxone kits, fentanyl test strips, and packaging for drug-checking samples. Drug checking services are offered in Kelowna, Penticton and Vernon in partnership with Interior Health and other community organizations. Also offers drop-in recovery support for the student community with lived experience of addiction or for those curious to explore their relationship with alcohol, drugs, or other addictive behaviours. Groups offer a variety of approaches including one that embraces all paths of recovery, a gentle 12-step program and one with a focus on altered states of healing.
