Provides non-emergency intervention in mental health crises from 9 am to 12 midnight every day except statutory holidays and from 12:30 pm to 8:30 pm on statutory holidays. Addresses immediate psychiatric distress, and persistent acute mental illness. Offers crisis intervention (by telephone, in the hospital), assessment, advocacy, and follow-up, and referral to counselling or health care. Participation is voluntary.
