Offers addictions treatment services, including residential treatment and community support services.
Offers addictions treatment services, including residential treatment and community support services. From May to October, operates six-week residential treatment programs at Ormond Lake Cultural Healing Camp. During the winter months (November to April), visits member communities by request. Offers educational and support services with a focus on addiction, and one or two-week treatment programs. Community visits open to any northern BC First Nation, based on availability. Participants need to be registered as Indigenous and be a resident of British Columbia or Yukon. As per First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) policy, does not accept clients from other provinces in Canada. Program content includes addictions, solvent abuse, life skills, and relapse prevention, as well as issues such as abuse, crisis management, suicide prevention, trauma, and family violence. Holistic approach promotes a cultural lifestyle free from addictions and restores a sense of pride in the Carrier and Sekani culture. Services are delivered by a multidisciplinary team, including clinical counsellors and cultural knowledge holders. Accepts referrals from community agencies working directly with the individual. Office hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. Funded by the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) as a National Native Alcohol and Abuse Program (NNADAP).

And serves families with babies up to seven months who are non-Indigenous, and up to 12 months for Indigenous. Assists women in having a healthy pregnancy and a smooth transition into parenthood. Services include prenatal vitamins, nutritional information, childbirth education and support, home visits, and weekly hospital breastfeeding/chestfeeding support for new families. Provides access to resources, unbiased information, referrals to community services, opportunities to network, increase self-esteem, and create a healthy lifestyle for themselves and their families. Accepts male children up to age 16; older males may be accepted if they do not pose any real or perceived safety risk. Priority for beds is given to Indigenous women with children from CSFS member nations (Burns Lake Band, Cheslatta Carrier Nation, Nadleh Whut'en, Wet'suwet'en First Nation, Stellat'en First Nation, Saik'uz First Nation, Takla Lake First Nation, Yekooche First Nation, Skin Tyee Nation, Nee Tahi Buhn Band, and Lake Babine Nation). High-barrier house; substance use is prohibited, but will work with clients to access substance use supports if wanted. Offers culturally specific services with a holistic wellness approach that blends evidence-based practices with traditional healing. Services may include trauma-informed therapeutic life skills, in-house clinical therapy, and group therapy. Will provide advocacy and support in accessing other services if no beds are available. Provides support and resources for families to increase their ability to safely care for and nurture their children.
Serves families who are considering having children and families with children up to age 19, living on reserve in Burns Lake, Cheslatta, Lake Babine, Nadleh Whut'en, Nee Tahi Buhn, Saik'uz, Skin Tyee, Stellat'en, Takla Lake, Wet'suwet'en, and Yekooche. Aims to keep children and families together and ensure the holistic wellness and safety needs of children are met. Services include prenatal education, early childhood development programs, life skills and parenting education, support groups, and advocacy. Services are offered in the home or in the community and are based on cultural practices of each family's own Nation of origin, traditional knowledge, and evidence-based best practices. Referral accepted from self or other. Regular hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. Funded by Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) and First Nations Health Authority (FNHA).
