Provides safe and secure temporary shelter and support for women (inclusive of cisgender and transgender women), with or without children, who are fleeing violent relationships or who are at risk of abuse, threats, or violence.
Provides safe and secure temporary shelter and support for women (inclusive of cisgender and transgender women), with or without children, who are fleeing violent relationships or who are at risk of abuse, threats, or violence. Accepts male children up to age 19 and any other dependents; conditions apply. Accepts refugees and refugee claimants, and women from out of province. Length of stay varies. Medium-barrier house; will support women with mental health issues, but no substance use onsite. Curfew is 11 pm. Gives women a safe and supportive living environment with access to daily living requirements such as clothing, toiletries, and nutritious meals. Also provides transportation, accompaniment, and advocacy support, as well as assists clients in accessing financial assistance, legal aid, and affordable housing. Offers resource information to enable women to explore their options and define their goals as well as assist with the development of safety plans. Personal identification (ID) is required when from outside of the community. Wheelchair accessible. Can accommodate pets; conditions apply. Also provides a 24-hour telephone help line and web chat, and emergency intervention. Serves Saltery Bay to Lund (including Powell River and Tla'amin) and Texada Island. Also provides shelter to women who are in crisis and experiencing homelessness or who are at risk of homelessness; considered on a case-by-case basis. Funded by BC Housing.

The program is a men's group offering practical help based on the most up-to-date research and techniques. Provides free individual and group counselling for children and youth ages three to 18 who have been exposed to family violence.
Helps children and youth understand their emotions, discuss their trauma, develop a safety plan, recognize their strengths, increase their self-confidence, and understand that they are not responsible for the violence. Also provides individual and group support for the non-offending parent and caregivers. Serves the Powell River area, including Savary Island and Texada Island.
