The Indigenous Cancer Care Counsellor assists patients and families from First Nations communities coping with cancer and offers referrals to community agencies. The Cancer Information Centre provides information for patients and family members to better understand cancer and its treatment. Serves all residents of northern BC. Hours are 7:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. Located next to the University Hospital of Northern BC.

Offers information on support groups and access to counsellors and resources to help deal with emotions such as anger, anxiety and depression as well as practical issues such as money and housing concerns. Provides primary care to people living with cancer who do not have a family doctor.
Services are provided by nurse practitioners and may include diagnosing and treating illness, prescribing medicine, consulting with cancer specialists, monitoring short and longer term effects of cancer and treatment, and screening for recurrence or second cancers. Self-referral accepted. Clinics are located in Vancouver and Surrey. Vancouver clinic hours are 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Thursday, and 9 am to 4 pm on Fridays. The Surrey clinic is located at the Surrey Urgent Primary Care Centre (City Centre 2, Unit G2, 9639 137A Street); hours are 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday. Serves Burnaby, Coquitlam, Delta, Ladner, Langley, Mission, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, North Vancouver, Richmond, Surrey, Vancouver, West Vancouver, and White Rock.

Provides vocational rehabilitation counsellors for BC Cancer patients who need assistance with work-related issues or concerns from time of diagnois until 18 months after active treatment has ended.
Vocational rehabilitation counselling includes access to appropriate rehabilitation resources for patients, developing return-to-work plans or plans to remain employed during treatment, assistance with clarifying insurance benefits and services, and life planning and goal setting. Rehabilitation counselling includes vocational assessment, resource information and referral, and advocacy. In-person, phone, or virtual counselling offered to patients residing in the Lower Mainland, and phone or virtual consultation available outside of the Lower Mainland. Also provides several work-focused groups including Job Search Seminar (onsite in Vancouver and offered by distance for patients outside of Vancouver), Looking for Work Using Social Media (Vancouver), and Return to Work Group (onsite in Vancouver and offered by distance outside of Vancouver). To access, contact the nearest Patient and Family Counselling office at a regional centre. Surrey area individuals can call 604-930-4000.
