Provides services to individuals who are infected with or affected by HIV/AIDS, hepatitis C and/or chronic illness who are street-involved, and/or who require housing assistance. Services include client support, information and referral, pre- and post-test counselling, confidential advocacy, assistance with treatment issues, medication management, accompaniment to medical appointments, positive persons support groups, and public education regarding HIV/AIDS and hepatitis C. The ASK Needle Clean Up Hotline takes reports from the public and coordinates the clean-up of dumped needles and syringes in public places anywhere in Kamloops. Hotline hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday with a voicemail option at other times. Offers drug testing on Thursdays. Also provides subsidized, independent housing for families, older adults, and people with disabilities in the Nicola Valley. ASK Wellness Society serves the Thompson Nicola Cariboo Shuswap area (Ashcroft, Barriere, Cache Creek, Chase, Clinton, Kamloops, Logan Lake, Merritt, and Spences Bridge). Kamloops office hours are 8:30 am to 12 noon and 1 pm to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday; Merritt office hours are 8:30 am to 12 noon and 1 pm to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. Nonprofit society.
