  Workshops that help secondary students to build awareness of social, emotional, and mental health issues. Provides practical considerations pertaining to overall wellness, in addition to tips for reaching out and finding support when needed. Aim is to develop skills that promote resiliency in the face of common challenges that high school students may encounter. Workshops are delivered in high school classrooms by professionally trained volunteers. Each workshop focuses on a key topic and is targeted to a particular age group. Office hours are 9 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. Funded by the City of Richmond, and the provincial government.

  Provides telephone counselling for people in crisis and those in need of emotional support.

  Provides telephone counselling for people in crisis and those in need of emotional support. Service is also available in other languages accommodated through live translation service. Hours are 8 am to 12 midnight daily. Also provides emotional support by live chat for people in distress, crisis, or needing someone to talk to; access is via a mobile device or a personal computer. Trained chat volunteers receive messages on a secure virtual platform; chat service is available from 4 pm to 10 pm Thursday to Saturday. Funded by PHSA and PHAC.

  Provides temporary safe shelter and support for women age 19 and over (inclusive of cisgender and transgender women) with or without children, who are escaping violent relationships or who are at risk of abuse, threats, or violence.

  Provides temporary safe shelter and support for women age 19 and over (inclusive of cisgender and transgender women) with or without children, who are escaping violent relationships or who are at risk of abuse, threats, or violence. Accepts male children up to age 18. Accepts refugees and refugee claimants, as well as women from out of the province. Length of stay is 30 days with possible extensions. High-barrier house; a safe and supportive living environment for women with access to daily living requirements such as clothing, toiletries, and nutritious meals. Also provides advocacy support; assists clients in accessing financial assistance, legal aid, and affordable housing. Offers resource information to enable women to explore their options and define their goals, as well as assists with the development of safety plans. Personal identification is required. Wheelchair accessible; not all rooms are accessible. Cannot accommodate pets but will arrange for fostering with a community partner. Priority is given to women with Canadian status; open to others if space allows. Funded by BC Housing.

  Offers one-time rental assistance in the form of an interest-free loan for low to moderate income individuals or families who are at risk of losing their rentals due to unexpected decrease in income or a sudden expense.

  Offers one-time rental assistance in the form of an interest-free loan for low to moderate income individuals or families who are at risk of losing their rentals due to unexpected decrease in income or a sudden expense. Funds are paid directly to the landlord or utility company and can be used for rental or utility payments (arrears or current), security/pet deposits, and/or first month's rent. Applicants must be 19 years of age or over; be a resident of Richmond, Ladner, or Tsawwassen; and owe less than $3,500. The program determines eligibility based on the nature of the financial crisis as well as the ability to repay the loan; loan assistance is assessed on a case-by-case basis. Also assists clients in connecting to relevant resources such as financial literacy tools, assistance with landlord mediation, and tenant-specific resources. Call for more information or fill out an online pre-assessment form to begin the application process.
