  Trauma-informed facility providing nine public beds and three private pay beds for residential social detox and supportive recovery services to women ages 19 and up; public beds available to anyone on Vancouver Island north of the Malahat.

  Trauma-informed facility providing nine public beds and three private pay beds for residential social detox and supportive recovery services to women ages 19 and up; public beds available to anyone on Vancouver Island north of the Malahat. Women must be able to live communally and participate in groups, must be medically detoxed and stable, and can be on prescribed medications such as suboxone and methadone. Residential Social Detox focuses on withdrawal management, nutrition, sleep hygiene, addressing physical and mental wellness concerns, and creating healthy daily routines. Length of stay is seven to 10 days. Referral accepted from self or other. Supportive Recovery Services is a sheltered program with an emphasis on recovery from substance use. Rotates through a six-week Supportive Recovery Program, which includes substance use education, safety planning, relapse prevention skills, harm reduction, developing healthy routines and building supportive relationships, self-care, stress management, recreation, and life skills. Length of stay is four to 12 weeks. Referral accepted from self or other. Private pay beds open to BC; cost is $150 per day. Wheelchair accessible. Residential program and recovery house registered with Assisted Living Registry, Ministry of Health. Funded by Island Health.

  Empowerment groups for girls ages 10 to 21. Discussions include healthy relationships, violence prevention, bullying, media literacy, healthy body image, mental health, and self-care. Girls participate in crafts, applied theatre, and journaling, and develop skills in the areas of relationship violence prevention, disordered eating, and substance misuse. Groups are facilitated by adult facilitator and trained peer facilitator. Serves Courtenay, Comox, Cumberland, and rural areas, including Denman Island and Hornby Island.

  Provides trauma-informed and culturally safe crisis support to survivors of all ages and genders of a recent sexual assault.

  Provides trauma-informed and culturally safe crisis support to survivors of all ages and genders of a recent sexual assault. Services include counselling, emotional support, outreach, hospital accompaniment, transportation, service coordination, and follow-up. Provides safety and wellness planning. Also provides victim services to any survivors of sexual violence, both recent and historical.

  Offers a 24/7 Crisis Line whose primary function is to support survivors of recent sexual assault (within the last 7 days). The SAS Coordinator will be dispatched to the hospital upon the survivor's request. The Crisis Line also functions as a resource to call and ask questions about sexual assault, options that survivors have, and to receive support in emotional crisis. Also offers third party reporting to adult victims of sexual assault; staff report the assault to police on behalf of the victim who remains anonymous. Serves Courtenay, Comox, Cumberland, and rural areas, including Denman Island, and Hornby Island. Service hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. Funded by Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General.

Pets are allowed but should be on a leash. Storage available. Laundry tickets provided for nearby laundromat. Smoking permitted outside. No max stay. Rain gear and blankets provided for turnaways when available.

Provides emotional support, safety planning, and referrals. Also offers individual advocacy with government and community agencies, parenting support, court accompaniment, life skills training, and assistance finding permanent housing. Cost is 30% of income or the maximum shelter allowance for individuals on income assistance. House is located in the Courtenay community. Office hours are 9 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday.

  Provides social, non-medical withdrawal management in a safe living environment. Focus is on nutrition, sleep hygiene, addressing physical and mental health concerns, and creating healthy daily routines. Supportive recovery following detoxification includes substance use education, safety planning, relapse prevention skills, harm reduction, building healthy relationships, self-care, problem solving, and stress management. Involvement with recovery programs is encouraged throughout stay and upon discharge. Transition planning includes ongoing recovery support, education, employment, and housing. All programs are run from a feminist perspective. Referral required from Island Health Mental Health and Substance Use Services. Private pay option is available. Serves Vancouver Island north of the Malahat, including neighbouring Gulf Islands. No coverage area limitations for private pay.
