  Housing stabilization program for low-income residents age 19 and over in Central Okanagan (Kelowna, West Kelowna, Lake Country and Peachland).

  Housing stabilization program for low-income residents age 19 and over in Central Okanagan (Kelowna, West Kelowna, Lake Country and Peachland). Offers interest-free, repayable loans to eligible renters of Central Okanagan who are at risk of being evicted, or those who cannot secure rental accommodation due to short-term financial difficulties. Loan funds can be used for rental arrears, next/first month's rent, security/pet/damage deposits on rental accommodation, or essential utilities (gas, electricity) arrears. If approved, loan funds are paid by cheque issued to the landlord or utility company. Funds are not paid directly to the applicant. Maximum loan amount is $1,500 per individual or family towards rent or rent deposits. Loans are repaid in monthly installments and repayment periods range between six months and 24 months. Applicants may complete a pre-assessment form available online or may contact the Rent Bank directly via email to start the application process. Applicants must have a current bank account; have proof of a regular source of verifiable income which is sufficient to cover usual rent/living expenses; demonstrate the household is within income requirements; not be more than two months in arrears; be a Canadian Citizen, Landed Immigrant, or Permanent Resident; have no undischarged bankruptcy; not be able to access any other forms of financial assistance; have two pieces of valid ID, one of which must be government-issued photo ID; demonstrate that the loan will stabilize their housing situation for 90 plus days. Office hours are 9 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday. Funded in part by the Province of BC through BC Rent Bank.

  Provides free integrated health and social services for youth ages 12 to 24 and their families. Mental health care, substance use services, primary health care, youth and family peer supports, and social services are accessible under one roof. Other services include youth outreach, housing support, independent living transition support, LGBTQ and mental health support groups, sexually transmitted disease testing and treatment, and family conflict resolution. Accepts referral from self or other. Medical Services Plan (MSP) coverage is required, but will help clients get a BC Care Card if eligible. Services are available virtually, by phone, and in person. Wellness on Wheels Services provides counselling and navigation services for youth 12 to 24 years of age; van stops at various locations in Lake Country, Westbank First Nation, and West Kelowna; see website for schedule. Serves Kelowna and surrounding area. Office hours are 9 am to 5 pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday; with extended hours of 9 am to 7 pm Thursdays. Drop-in counselling is available from 10 am to 5 pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, and from 10 am to 7 pm Thursdays.

  Supports parents and caregivers of children, youth, or dependent adults up to age 25 who have mental health and/or substance use issues. Family Navigation helps parents/caregivers access relevant programs and services based on their individual needs. The Family Navigator assesses needs; provides information on services; provides education on mental health and substance use issues, self-care, coping strategies, and communication skills; and helps to access community resources. Offered throughout the Interior region. Take a Break Support Group offers parents/caregivers the chance to meet other parents/caregivers, make connections, share experiences, and learn enhanced coping skills. Offered at the following CMHA branches in the BC Interior: Cariboo Chilcotin (Williams Lake), South Cariboo (100 Mile House), Kamloops, Kelowna, Shuswap/Revelstoke (Salmon Arm), Vernon, South Okanagan Similkameen (Penticton), and the Kootenays (Cranbrook); contact the closest branch for dates and times.   Provides 49 units of recovery-based housing for individuals who need supports in order to stabilize their housing and improve their quality of life.

  Provides 49 units of recovery-based housing for individuals who need supports in order to stabilize their housing and improve their quality of life. Housing is prioritized for people who are either already on a path to recovery from substance use or are ready to make a change in their lives. One floor of the project is dedicated to specifically supporting young adults ages 17 to 24 years old. Services include two meals per day, health and wellness supports, life and employment skills training, opportunities for volunteer work, and referrals to community services. Staff are on site 24 hours daily. Staff include a mental health and substance use specialist, home support worker, youth housing worker, and recreation worker. Smoking is permitted. Pets are permitted on a case-by-case basis. Residents may work or study during their stay. Applications through BC Housing using the Supportive Housing Registration (SHR) Service form available online. Some units are wheelchair accessible. Office hours are 9 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday. Funded by BC Housing.

  Outreach team provides housing readiness support services to individuals experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness, including assistance recovering lost or stolen identification, facilitating applications for treatment and supportive housing, and connecting those without a current source of income to financial assistance through the appropriate channels.

  Outreach team provides housing readiness support services to individuals experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness, including assistance recovering lost or stolen identification, facilitating applications for treatment and supportive housing, and connecting those without a current source of income to financial assistance through the appropriate channels. Provides brief interventions and a triage service referring clients for necessary support. Offers food bags, water, and harm reduction supplies to people who are sheltering outside; does not serve those who are precariously housed. Also distributes weather appropriate gear such as tents, coats, sunscreen, and hats if available. Operates in West Kelowna from 1 pm to 3 pm on Mondays, Kelowna (midtown) and Rutland from 11 am to 3 pm Tuesday to Friday; operates out of Metro Central Shelter Hub once per week; does not serve Downtown Kelowna or the Tent City (OS4) area.   The Wellness Development Centre for individuals age 19 and over with mental health issues provides opportunities to connect with others, learn about mental health, and engage in wellness-based activities.

  The Wellness Development Centre for individuals age 19 and over with mental health issues provides opportunities to connect with others, learn about mental health, and engage in wellness-based activities. Services include peer support, mental health information sessions, mental health workshops, and mindfulness exercises. Courses are offered online, and when available, in-person. Referral required from a health professional. Peer Support Groups meet weekly both in person and online. The Discovery College offers free online courses designed to educate and provide practical tools for promoting people's well-being; topics include navigating grief, social media and mental health, caregiving for loved ones experiencing mental health or substance use challenges, and navigating aging parents. See website for a calendar and referral forms. Centre hours are from 12 noon to 1 pm Mondays, and 11 am to 2 pm Tuesday to Thursday.
