Program length is between six and 12 months. Offers wraparound support, trauma-informed individual and group counselling, addiction education, life skills development, anger management training, stress management, and related services. Oriented toward a Christian worldview, and open to all. Accepts women on substitution therapy. Open referral. Intake is based on application, interview, and assessment. Fee is $60 per night, based on Ministry standards for Special Facilities. For private pay, cost is $550 per month. Not wheelchair accessible.

A temporary stabilization program available to men (cisgender and transgender) seeking recovery, addictions treatment, or second stage support.
A temporary stabilization program available to men (cisgender and transgender) seeking recovery, addictions treatment, or second stage support. The program is designed to support people accessing addictions recovery programs; participants must have a confirmed transition plan and the maximum estimated waitlist time for their recovery program must be two weeks or less; exceptions can be made at the discretion of the intake case managers. The program is open to individuals looking for recovery whether through a UGM program or another program. Does not accept individuals requiring medical detox or on substitution therapy other than Sublocade. Individuals cannot be at risk of severe withdrawal (seizures, severe sickness/nausea/etc.), though minor withdrawal symptoms are acceptable, preference is to have medical supervision or recommendations. Individuals with a history of seizures when withdrawing or who have been using a large amount of opiates/opioids must enter and complete detox prior to entering Gateway. They should be coherent and able to focus and understand rules, procedures, and guidelines. Cannot accommodate individuals with major mobility issues that will inhibit their ability to live independently in the Gateway dorm. People in the program are required to stay in the building unless accompanied by staff to appointments. Self-referrals are accepted; apply directly to case management staff.

The program supports clients in choosing which recovery pathway is right for them within an abstinence-focused program. Part of the two-year program offers a second-stage program that primarily focuses on relapse prevention planning through coaching. Oriented toward a Christian world view, and open to all. currently accepts men who receive Sublocade injections. Provides a Christmas hamper to low-income families to alleviate some of the stresses of the holidays and allow families to experience the joys of the Christmas season.
Hampers are first provided to children of participants connected to UGM programs, and then to families in the broader UGM community. Individuals who are enrolled in UGM programs should connect with their main contact person for details on how to apply. Those who don't meet these criteria can contact the Community Navigation Team to be placed a waitlist by calling the UGM Women and Families Centre reception at 604-253-4044 or emailing christmashampers@ugm.ca.

Community members who have stayed the previous night can reclaim their bed first at 9 pm; if available, any unclaimed beds can be claimed by those with shelter tickets until 12 midnight. Offers showers, limited laundry facilities, personal hygiene items, overnight lockers, case management, and referrals to housing, recovery, legal, and immigration services. Bible devotions, spiritual supports, and prayer are available. Individuals must be able to access services independently as there are no one-on-one or medical supports. Pets are not permitted. Rent is based on 30 percent of gross income or maximum shelter allowance.
