Refugee claimants can access settlement and immigration information, orientation and referrals; claims submission support, and assistance completing non-immigration forms; English-language assessment and formal language training; housing search and support; short-term non-clinical counselling; psycho-social trauma counselling; customized employment counselling, job skills support, labour market and workplace rights and responsibilities information, and short-term training (such as FoodSafe or first aid); legal navigation; and 2SLGBTQI+ support. Asylum seekers (who have not made a claim for protection like a refugee claimant) can access help with their initial integration into society, including settlement and immigration information, orientation, and referrals; claims submission process support, and assistance completing non-immigration forms; community connections and informal language practice; short-term non-clinical counselling. CUAET visa holders and other humanitarian newcomers can access psycho-social trauma counselling.   Assists seniors age 65 and over who are in general good health, but require help with non-medical daily tasks to maintain independent living within their homes and remain connected to their communities.

  Assists seniors age 65 and over who are in general good health, but require help with non-medical daily tasks to maintain independent living within their homes and remain connected to their communities. Services include light housekeeping, grocery shopping, friendly visits, and yard work. Serves residents of Newton. Fees are on a sliding scale based on income. Program hours are 9 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. Service is in English. May offer housekeeping service in Hindi or Punjabi depending on staff availability. Funded by Ministry of Health (MOH) and managed by United Way British Columbia (UWBC).
  
  Also provides transportation for seniors ages 65 and over living in Cloverdale, and Surrey's Fleetwood, Guildford, Newton, and Whalley communities. Service coverage is available throughout Surrey and White Rock for appointments and shopping. The individual client service is pick-up and drop-off only as it does not include accompaniment. Can accommodate walkers. Service hours and hours to book a trip are 9 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. Booking must be made three to four working days in advance. Clients can book multiple appointments in advance. 24 hours notice is required to cancel a trip. Pre-registration is required and completed during the intake process; first by phone then a home visit. Services may either be free or based on a sliding scale. If clients need to leave the Surrey/White Rock area there is an additional cost of .47 cents/km. Clients are invoiced for fees. Transportation provided by volunteer drivers. Service provided in English. The waitlist to access the service is approximately one month after registration. Office hours are 9 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday.

The aim of the workshops is to help in maintaining healthy lifestyles and relationships, and allows participants to address complexities including changing family dynamics, addictive and behavioural issues, sexual health, traumatic experiences, and mental well-being. The program seeks to educate about coping strategies and to prevent difficult mental health issues through psychoeducation. Participants are supported to share their feelings and lived experiences in a safe, non-judgmental space. Workshops are facilitated by a family counsellor. Language assistance is provided, which enables sensitive mental health-related topics to be discussed using an appropriate cultural lens. LINC Assistance and Readiness Class (LARC) is a trauma-informed program for clients who need additional support and more flexibility than a conventional LINC class would provide, with the goal of transitioning into the regular LINC stream.   Wellness program for isolated Surrey immigrants and refugees ages 55 and older who are experiencing barriers to physical or mental health, and/or are isolated or lonely due to limited community or family supports. Program includes one-on-one intake assessment and support, wellness calls by volunteers, exercise groups, and group phone calls with other seniors to chat, play games, and share music. Offered in partnership with Fraser Health, funded by United Way BC (UWBC) Healthy Aging Program, and as a Therapeutic Activation Programs for Seniors (TAPS) by the Government of BC.

  Provide a combination of life and employability training to prepare immigrant and refugee youth, ages 15 to 30, for success in the workplace.

  Provide a combination of life and employability training to prepare immigrant and refugee youth, ages 15 to 30, for success in the workplace. Youth will explore career options, learn job search techniques, receive training and on-the-job work placement experience. The Future Leaders Program trains youth ages 15 to 30 in the retail, food, and service industry sectors; participants receive wages and various certifications while attending class. Through the Future Troopers Program, youth ages 17 to 29 receive employment training, in addition to career planning and job search skills. Certain eligibility criteria apply. The Start it Right! Program provides skills training and job support for temporary workers, international students, or refugee claimants ages 15 to 29 who do not meet eligibility criteria of other programs. Funded by Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction (MSDPR) as a WorkBC Employment Services and Supports (ESS) Program.
